Who Am I
Blue Heron Lab is a software and bioinformatics consultancy for biotech startups, based in Utrecht and founded by Thon de Boer.
Thon has spent his career building bioinformatics software across research institutes and industry, including product leadership roles at Agilent Technologies and Strand Life Sciences. Today he builds data and AI agent infrastructure for life-science teams, including Specie Bio. Blue Heron Lab brings that experience to small, fast-moving biotech teams that need expert computational support without building a full department.
